Weight loss injections work by addressing your body's natural responses to hunger. This helps you to reduce your calorie intake without feeling hungry.
The weight loss injections are very easily self administered although they need to be prescribed by a medical professional.
As you progress through your weight loss journey, your dosages will increase as prescribed.
The injections are under the skin and will be in your upper arm, abdomen or thigh.
If you are considering weight loss injections, we will go through your medical history, any medication you are currently taking and perform a complete risk analysis so we are confident that weight loss injections are right for you.
The injections themselves are MHRA approved and as part of low calorie meal plan and increased physical activity can help with weight problems that include high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.
Weight loss injections are not recommended for children under the age of 18.
We'll walk through the processes outlined above...
During the initial consultation, the main objective is to understand your goals and establish if weight loss injections fit those goals.
We'll also properly manage your expectations in terms of diet requirements, physical exercise and timescales.
These goals can be broken down into milestones so we can easily monitor your progress.
Next we'll prescribe your initial monthly course which will be delivered to your home for self administration.
The administration process will have been fully explained during your initial consultation. Initially the dosage will be small and build up gradually over time so your body adapts.
As you progress through the month, you will be able to monitor progress against your milestones.
Be aware, the injections alone will not help you to lose weight, but will help as part of a diet and exercise plan that we will build together.
Each month you will attend an 'in clinic' appointment, prior to the course being completed, where we will review your progress, make any required adjustments and re-calibrate your goals if required.
At this point, if appropriate, your next monthly course will be prescribed for home delivery.
As with any medication, there are potential side effects that we will discuss with you at your initial consultation. These include, but are not limited to:
Nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and low blood sugar...
Should you experience any side effects during your program, we are there to support you through any issues.
