We recommend waiting to travel a minimum of 2 weeks but full immunity will be reached in 8 weeks from your final injection.

A course of three injections are required within a period of 3-4 weeks for travel and within 6 months for occupational health.

Side Effects

Potential slight tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site. A few may experience slight fever, headache, general aching and malaise after one day, lasting for 24 hours.

Your first appointment will take 15 minutes, Follow ups are 10 minutes.

Hepatitis B Immunity Check Blood Test

For a £50 fee we can check for your immunity against Hepatitis B.

Occupational Health Guidance

For occupational health and those with kidney failure, a blood test is recommended 2 months after your last dose to check your immunity levels are where they need to be. A one time booster is needed after 5 years of the last dose.

Who Can't Have The Hepatitis B Vaccine

For those who have had a confirmed anaphylactic reaction to a previous dose of a hep-B containing vaccine or any components of the vaccine.

What Is Hepatitis B?

Hepatitis B is a potentially life threatening liver infection caused by:

  • Transmission of bodily fluids through sex.
  • Passed from mother to child at birth.
  • Sharing needles and exposure to sharp instruments.

Adults develop chronic Hepatitis B in less than 5% of cases.

Infants and young children develop chronic Hepatitis B in 95% of cases making them extremely vulnerable.

What are the symptoms of Hepatitis B?

Symptoms for Hepatitis B can take up to 90 days to show and include:

  • Jaundice of the skin & eyes (yellowing)
  • Dark urine
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain

There are no specific treatments for Hepatitis B.
