The Malaria tablets you need will depend upon where you are travelling to as some parasites have developed a resistance to chloroquine.

Where there is a choice you can choose to take tablets on a daily or weekly basis depending on which suits you best (e.g. daily is best if you prefer daily routines).

Malarone is the most expensive option, but it is effective in every country in the world and only needs to be taken 7 days after returning from your trip.
Side effects include nausea, vomiting, headaches, diarrhoea and stomach pains. Also included are unusual dreams, dizziness, skin rashes, moodiness and coughing.
Coverage is worldwide but the course needs to be taken a full four weeks after returning from your trip.
Doxycycline can cause your skin to be more sensitive to the sun so extra care needs to be taken.
Other side effects include loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhoea and other stomach problems.
